"Holiday Hop" December 12th

"Holiday Hop" to Benefit Mission Texas 2009  The St. Luke's Parish Hall will be grooving big time Dec. 12th  from 6 to 9:30pm at the "Holiday Hop" to benefit the Mission Team traveling to Texas in June 2009 to help the victims of Hurricane Ike.  Bring the whole family and bring friends too!  That 70"s band, Obsidian (featuring our own Paul Menser on guitar and vocals), will be providing the music.  There will be beverages and dessert.  Bring a potluck or finger-food to share.  All donations will be used to send the Mission Team on their way!

Just a Reminder:  All Turkey Boxes MUST BE BACK Monday Nov. 24th!!!   Call Kelli Marshall at 523-7846.for more information.

MISSION TEXAS 2009 (Hurricane Ike repair) is scheduled for June 21-26.  Twenty people from St. Luke's have already signed up.  The camp is filling up FAST, so talk to Buddy Hall ASAP if you want to go.  This is a Jr./Sr. high trip for youth age 12 and up, plus adults.  A $50 (non-refundable) deposit is needed to reserve your place.  Buddy's number is 528-6207.

MISSION will be the topic of Adult (and Teen) Sunday Education at 9 a.m. on November 23, 30, and December 7.  Buddy Hall will lead the discussion.  This class will be especially appropriate for members and families of our teams going to Kenya and Texas in 2009, as well as all parishioners who support our mission work.

Community Thanksgiving Service   Regional Council for Christian Ministry is sponsoring a Community Thanksgiving service November 26th at 7:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St.  All offerings received during the service will be divided between the Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen.  Our own Pastor, Susan Speir will be one of the worship leaders.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner   St. Luke's has been asked to provide 5 pies to be delivered to the Elks Lodge on Nov. 26 after 1 pm or on Thanksgiving morning before 10 am.  Please no cream pies.  Call the office and let us know if you can take a pie.

Needed:  Worship and a Music Leader/Pianist or Singing Group   This Christmas Season, St. Luke's is responsible for the Protestant worship at the Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center across from EIRMC.  The worship service is at 3:15 p.m. on Sundays.  This is a wonderful opportunity to bring hope and love to others this Christmas Season with the gift of your time.  Contact Mary Leberknight at 529-9357 or e-mail: jmlt@srv.net for the Sunday you want to come.

New Office Hours:  Monday thru THURSDAY, 10am to 3 pm.  Please, if you have announcements for the bulletin, you need to get them in by 3pm on Wednesdays!

Safe Sitter Training   If you are interested in becoming a nursery attendant, or just want to take a course on being a safe sitter, this is for you!  We will be holding a Safe Sitter Training course on Saturday, December 6th from 9 AM - 4 PM at St. Luke's.  If you are interested in attending, please contact either Jason Wright, 745-6215 or Pageant Jones, 524-0363 for more information.  Pizza will be served for lunch, or you may bring a sack lunch.
